Main Race - Welcome to the 39th Moffat Run over 15km (9.3 miles)

This scenic multi-terrain race is organised under UK Athletics rules, an SAF permit event with open and local prizes.

Locals are eligible for open prizes and competitors are eligible to win prizes for more than one category. Eligibility for entry to local category will be determined by the organisers, whose decision shall be final.

🧭 Route Details - the first 3.75 miles undulates with a subtle but gradual rise of 350 feet. This is followed by the most challenging part of the route, just under one mile of steep track rising 550 feet. Care should be taken here with the track being stony and uneven in places. On reaching the top, there is a spectacular 4.6 mile downhill descent back into Moffat town centre on the A701.
💧 Mile Markers on route. Drinks/Sponges/First Aid Stations at approximately 3, 5, 8 miles.

Entry Fee Early Bird £14, Normal Price £16.
🔒 Closing Date for entries will be Friday 10th July 2026 or earlier if our limit is reached.
If the race is not at full capacity, there will be a LIMITED number of late entries permitted on Race Night. 
🕣 Those late entries can be made in person at the Town Hall between 17:00 and 18:45.

ALL LATE ENTRIES will incur an additional £6 administration charge.
⚠️Minimum age on day of race 17 years.
⚠️The Race is not suitable for novelty fancy dress.
⚠️It is strongly recommended that participants do not run with earphones/headphones (unless bone-conducting). 
⚠️£3 levy for non ScottishAthletics members

🕣 Prize Giving at approximately 21:00.

🏃 JUNIOR RACES
UNDER 17 (minimum age 11 years)
🧭 Route - a 2.3 mile loop starting from the Town Hall on the High Street and continuing on the Edinburgh Road before climbing up to Chapel Farm.  The route then descends down Chapel Brae before joining Beattock Road and heading back to Moffat Town Hall via Station Road and the High Street.
UNDER 11 (minimum age 5 years)
🧭 Route - a 1.4 mile loop starting from the Town Hall on the High Street and continuing on the Edinburgh Road before joining the riverside walk.  The route continues on the riverside walk down to the Station Park and returns back to the Town Hall via Station Road and the High Street.
✍🏻 Runners should register via ProTay but race entry fee will be collected on the night when race numbers are collected.

👕 Optional T-shirt for Junior Runners.  Those requesting a junior t-shirt will receive an email with details for prepayment for t-shirt orders.  All t-shirt orders must be paid by BACS by 30th June 2026 or the t-shirt order will be cancelled. 

🕣 Junior races start at 6:15pm - entrance is possible on race night (before 5:30pm).
TOT’S RACE (under 5 years) – a short dash on the closed section of the High Street.  No pre-registration required and no entry fee.  It’s just for fun, turn up and run!
