Maryhill Harriers would one again like to commemorate the life of our friend and former president Kenny Stevenson with the staging of the Kenny Stevenson Memorial Trail Race.

This 7 mile trail run starts from Blanefield towards the Glengoyne Distillery and back via the West Highland Way. The terrain is predominantly good quality trail paths with the start and finish sections on road. There is a fair amount of elevation (787 ft) which makes for a challenging course, while runners will have to navigate farm gates along the way. This is not a race for chasing a PB, rather an opportunity for friends and running acquaintances of Kenny to enjoy doing what he loved in his memory.

DAAA Clubs
The event is free to enter for invited DAAA clubs, with all participants asked to make a charitable donation.

Registration

Time: 6–7pm at Edmonstone Hall, Blanefield
Parking: Limited at the hall due to other events. Alternative parking is available at St Kessog’s Church (start line) and the Kirkhouse Inn 5 minutes away.
Facilities: Toilets and bag drop available at the hall. Volunteers will be around, but items are left at your own risk.

The Route

Mostly trail, starting on gravel. Road shoes are fine but expect mud if it’s wet.
You’ll need to navigate farm gates yourself - none will be pre-opened. A tail cyclist will close gates behind you.
Two road crossings (at ~5km and ~10km). Marshals will guide you - please follow instructions.
The route is marked, but it’s a tricky one. Please review the course map (available as a GPX/Strava download here).

After the Race

The finish area is narrow - please return to Edmonstone Hall for water, tea, coffee, and home baking.
Prize giving will be at the hall around 8:30pm.
We’re raising funds for the Scottish Wildlife Trust – Loch of the Lowes. Donation buckets will be at registration and in the hall. Please give what you can!
